MLAs are now being used not only in short-wave bands but also in VHF and UHF bands. If compared with a cheaper wire dipole, more demanding MLAs must offer an important advantage in operation, otherwise the growing number of happy users cannot be explained. The controversial success of MLAs is surprising as the new MLAs are quite costly commercial products on antenna market. We will try to explain the advantage and application preference for each model separately.

The oldest and best sold two-turn magnetic loop antenna developed by OK2ER. Its wide-band function achieved by a patented design is just excellent. No other MLA is available on the world market that can offer such wide-band coverage. This antenna is designed for QRP operation, 10 W at 3.5 MHz, 20 W elsewhere.

The MLA-S (portable RT) is probably one of the most economically viable commercially produced plug-and-play magnetic loop antennas directly designed for remote tuning (RT).
MLA-S (RT/R) light

Both functions, remote tuning of the loop and also antenna rotating are solved via one supply coaxial cable. That is why the antenna does not need another supply cable.

Small, Foldable, Transportable
The magnetic loop antenna, MLA-C, has been modified and optimized by computer modeling, to achieve an optimum size and efficiency. MLA-V is designed for operations at 3.5, 5.3, 7, 10, 14 and 18 MHz, with input power up to 100 W. It is tuned remotely by a DC motor driving a high-voltage variable capacitor, by a CB4M driver unit using an intelligent PWM mode.
